This is done at high temperatures and often with the use of strong detergents that cause everything to return to normal. At the same time, the use of such agents for normal clothes would be associated with their imminent end.
That is why specialized fabrics that are provided with multi-protection are designed to survive heavy and dangerous tasks, but also to survive hot and heavily chemical washes.
