Flame retardant sewing threads

Flame-retardant sewing threads are available in our offer. At the Polish Textile Group, we know very well how important the production of every piece of clothing for work is. It is a process that requires not only the right materials: fabrics, high-quality knitted fabrics, but also threads. We have all of this and we confirm it with many certificates. In the production of each garment, the choice of materials from which it is made is important, but also the combination. That’s what threads are for. Let’s not forget that the garment has other sewing accessories – buttons, zippers, tapes.

Flame retardant sewing threads – what are they for?

Every garment must have a decent fabric, but also decent threads. Especially when we are talking about an industry where we are dealing with fire nearby. If the work takes place at high temperatures, because there is a fire burning nearby or there are sparks. These can lead to ignition. We also have hot pieces of metal, so in each of these cases you need specialized clothing. That is, they are made of flame-retardant materials, i.e. those that cannot accidentally catch fire. Also those that protect the employee from danger. The key element of such clothing are flame-retardant sewing threads, and this is because without them, even the best clothing could fall apart. Burnt threads could lead to damage to the rest of the garment.

The Difficult Job of a Firefighter

It is worth remembering that specialist clothing is exposed to wear and tear much more often than ordinary clothing. Therefore, the materials from which it is made must be very durable. A simple garment, the kind we wear every day, doesn’t wear out too much, because it’s just worn in ordinary temperatures and conditions. In specialist work, where flame-retardant clothing is needed – for example, in the case of a firefighter, we do not only deal with fire. Firefighting takes place in spring, summer, autumn and winter, i.e. in every season of the year, where there are completely different weather conditions. Let’s just add that the fire is extinguished from the outside, but also the firefighters saving lives go inside, where extreme temperatures can prevail.

Now let’s imagine the clothes they work in – it must be resistant to wind, rain, fire, water, very high temperatures, but also very low temperatures in winter. If the action takes place somewhere on a road running near a swamp, it must also be resistant to high humidity. Let’s remember that work clothes must also be clean, so washing such clothes means high temperatures and intensive washing in specialized detergents. The materials from which such clothes are made have very durable materials. Now let’s think about other sectors of the economy where we have many, many other factors.
