Medical fabrics – why are they special?
It is worth realizing that medical fabrics are not only white, blue or green. There’s a lot more to such clothing. First of all, working in a hospital or with a patient in general is a job where we can expose ourselves to contact with blood or other fluids and secretions. To this must be added contact with viruses and bacteria. Therefore, the clothing of doctors, nurses, paramedics and medical staff must be made of specialized materials. Interestingly, in the HoReCa industry – i.e. the hotel and catering industry – the same materials are used. This is due to the fact that they come into contact with substances, liquids and other things that intensively stain work clothing.
Specialized ones are those that can withstand (without much wear) a large number of washes at high temperatures. Even with the use of specialized, strong detergents. In addition, fabric is not everything, this type of clothing must also have specialized, strong and durable threads. Without them, the garment would simply fall apart.
